When the heel is on the ground, it pulls the hips out of alignment with the shoulders and places the athlete in a weak, unstacked position. . “Squash the bug 🐜” with that trailing foot and turn the heel out. Who doesn’t love a good PR on wedding week?! • The last time I hit 225# on squat clean was two years ago and I was about 15lbs heavier. I never thought I would be able to hit this again being so small now. • Nutrition is key to success in any type of fitness journey. I went from being in the mindset of “I workout all the time I deserve to eat what I want” to dropping 15lbs in one month and then caring SO much to where I was terrified of eating in fear of gaining all of that weight back. • Lucky for me, @mike_m2pn with @m2performancenutrition swooped in and literally saved me from an eating disorder. He immediately increased my food by over 1,000 calories and I LOST WEIGHT while getting stronger. Since then, I have been fascinated with food and how to prevent people from going through what I did. • Now don’t get me wrong, I am definitely not perfect and still struggle with food to this day. But the important thing is that I am finally able to look as food as fuel and not my enemy. While standing over the bar, the barbell should be covering the last shoelace from the athlete’s view. . Why? “By starting with the bar over the last shoelace, we ensure that the bar is over the midfoot and base of support (from the ball of the foot to the heel). This can be changed based on individual preference, but the important thing here is that the bar is over the base of support and is not touching the shins.” .
