When you’re hoping the pre-workout will kick in soon and give you some motivation.. 😝 Man, it still feels like a Monday. Who else is having trouble getting motivated this week? 🙋🏻‍♀️ Maybe it’s Christmas creeping in or the fact that I’m coming off of a fun and festive weekend with people I love. 🎄💕 Either way, yesterday was a struggle and today has felt similar. But the C4 did eventually do the trick 🤩 and I just got my upper body session in. 💪🏼 Next on the agenda: food 😍 and teaching Spinning later. 🚴🏻‍♀️ Salvaging the rest of the day and getting ready to hit the ground running tomorrow. 👊🏼

Many athletes treat shoulders as an afterthought when strength training not realizing the impact properly developing your shoulders can have on major lifts such as the bench press, as your front deltoids are primarily involved & your traps are part of the secondary group of muscles during the beach press. These exercises are not only great for developing strong & healthy shoulders but the 2 incorporate a heavy core component. 1. 🏋🏻‍♂️ Swiss bar overhead press: the Swiss bar is great for developing grip strength & the overhead component forces you to keep your core engaged in order to avoid hypertension of the back 2. Push-up plank front deltoid raise: forces you to brace at the core, be sure to keep from swinging at the hips as you transfer from each side. Remember our goal as athletes is on court/field performance, so never compensate form for a weight room number. Filmed one of my morning practices over the weekend.
