Tight Hams? Or are they? 💫 . Anterior Pelvic Tilt . So we can run through all the stretch and strengthening drills in the world for that APT causing your tight hams but if you can’t actually control your pelvis- all of it is for naught! . So stick with me here and trust the process 😉 . APT describes a forward tipping of the pelvis that results in a hyperlordosis (arch) of the low back. . Muscle imbalances do contribute to this posturing but everyone* (*not accurate) forgets about motor patterning. Aka: CONTROL . Now am I saying APT is bad? No. Is my goal for you to be walking around in a posterior tilt? Nope! But I do want you to find a more centered neutral and gain control of that complex. . Super simple drill to run- you can stand against a wall but I find lying is perf for newbies. . 🎥 if you’re already in APT there will be a big old space between your low back and the ground 📍to posterior tilt think of smooshing (yes) the space between your back and the floor 📍another idea: if you were a dog, you’re going to “tuck your tail” 📍if you need some tactile feedback 👉🏻place a towel under the low back and think of touching that with your back📍this should be non painful📍you should feel glutes and abs start to activate with posterior tilt 📍eventually you’ll want to bring this motion upright to translate it into real life #sportspecific #sportsperformance #sportsperformancetraining #sportsspecifictraining #athletictraining #athletictrainer #athletictherapy #athleticstandard #athleticperformance #powertraining #athleticfit #athleticfitworld #strengthcoach #mobilitywod #training #trainingday #trainingcamp #trainingmotivation #osteopatia #luca_baroni_trainer #powerlifiting #yoga #bodybulding

CAN’T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG?! What’s up, Achievers?! here with a quick PSA to coaches! I’ve really come to respect and admire all of you out there fighting the good fight. You’d be hard pressed to find a more dedicated and passionate bunch than coaches. The hours are a grind, you have to be 100% ON every single session, and you constantly have to prioritize the needs of your athletes/clients/members over yourselves. To top it all of, everyone asks you why you’re so exhausted after working a “normal” 40 hour workweek when you probably just “workout” all day, and also when you’re going to get a “real” job. Yet, we push through, we still absolutely LOVE the process, and strive to get better everyday. The problem is when all that fiery passion you have turns into dogma. You see another coach propose a different way or try to bring value to their community through a different lens other than your own and it really upsets you. There’s a ✅ mark next to all the coaches in the video above, because they’re all right. All of them! They all get unbelievable results with the people they work with - they all have dedicated their lives into shaping a healthier and fitter world! We shouldn’t be fighting each other, we should be working and collaborating with one another! Pull from the experiences of others and use it to enhance your own - it’s the only way we can all grow as an industry, and the only way we can truly scale what we want to do which is to make the world a healthier place! So, to all you powerlifting, oly, gymnastics, spinning, Barry's Bootcamp, Crossfit, kettlebell, insert-methodology-here coaches out there - keep doing you. And remember that someone else who expresses a different viewpoint just has a different set of experiences than you, they probably work with a completely different population from you that responds to their method. At the end of the day, they most likely still have the best interests of their people at heart. Unless of course, that someone is just in it for the money - then shame on them. But I’m convinced we make up the majority, and that the cream rises to the top. #sportspecific #sportsperformance #sportsperformancetraining

Hip flip Agility . 🌪The quickest and most mobile athletes are those that can rotate there hips the fastest while maintaining lateral or vertical acceleration . 🦵Hip rotations are excellence for core and hip flexor stabilization muscle strengthening. Not to mention the killer oblique workout you get . The next move incorporated is 👣quick feet mini hurdle drill. Hip rotations into this is going to work 🧠neuromuscular conditioning (performing two different exercise simultaneously), fast twitch muscles and transition speed . The extra work here is the broad jump. After the hips, legs and feet are fatigued due to a high intensity work, the athlete must be able to overcome fatigue and perform max effort broad jump

Something I do every night before bed. Lol. Nope...it’s not what you think:) I elevate my legs against a wall until they go numb. Sometimes 5 minutes. Sometimes 95 minutes. Varies. . . Great to avoid pooling stagnant blood in venules, refresh legs from the billion steps and training movements I did that day, helps with any soreness from walking miles or from the movements of the day, great for circulation body wide, parasympathetic boost which is a healing boost, lymph flow, and an overall immune boost. . . .. Tonight’s entertainment while I do this happens to be Wonder Woman. To be honest how the hell does anyone pay attention to the story line with @gal_gadot on screen? She’s unreal. And she can kill a god? I’d totally share my meals and go salsa dancing with her. . . . Elevate your legs. Daily. Though there is no hard rule for when an athlete can begin a resistance training program that will eventually include some form of weightlifting, a good rule of thumb is 10 to 14 years old, depending on the development level of the athlete. A sports performance program is purposefully developed cautiously, where resistance training actually helps and athletes become resilient enough to handle the rigors of sports, growth spurts, academics, and social dynamics. #strength #strengthtraining #atheletes #athleticdevelopment #sports #sportsperformance #trainsmart #deliberatepractice #purposefulpractice

Is rotational training part of your training? Every sport requires some sort of rotation, 🏈🏀⚾️🎾🏓🏸🥍 you name it! It’s important to equally train both side even if you don’t use the other side as often as your dominant side. In order to stay healthier in overall musculoskeletal system, we have to maintain the balance of our body ⚖️ to stay out of pain, and oftentimes getting better at the weak side helps you as an athlete and in your game. Tag a friend that needs to train their core!

When someone comes in talking about fingertip pushups you throw it into the program. You can pick up on 3-4 moves a person subconsciously wants if you shut your mouth and watch them for a while when they first walk in. They will move in various ways while waiting. Those movements are what they need. Give it to them. And admit and acknowledge that you really don’t know shit when it comes to the person’s brain and what a person needs in movement according to their self. Lol. . . Nice work @crispy._.tofu! Heavily Loaded Unilateral Movements (AKA single leg). A lot of times single leg movements are performed with little to no weight especially in comparison to the way bilateral movements (squats, deadlifts...) are loaded. Obviously you can lift more weight with two legs than one. However, when performing single leg movements we still need to use a weight that would be heavy (and challenging) for one leg to create major adaption leading to single leg strength and stability. Most movements in sports are often performed on one leg so it’s important to be strong in these positions.

• What’s for UPPER? 🍽 3 of my focus points for the upper body session today were... 🎯(Close Grip)Bench Press - You must strain maximally, which is why I worked up to a 1 rep max. Also, by bringing the hands closer On the bar you’re able to target the triceps much more. The fat bar helps in forearm strength, grip strength, and allows more variation for bench sessions. 🎯Incline Press - This movement is targets the front delts (shoulders) primarily and more chest of course. An inclined pressing movement helps to get some additional shoulder work in without directly hitting the shoulders. 🎯Pendlay Rows - By allowing you to go a bit heavier than a dumbbell row would, this is a great back movement for the majority of the back (lats, spinal erectors, upper and mid back). Save this post so that you can give any of these movements a try or give all of them a try!
