Feeling the fatigue from yesterday's Tough Mudder, so was curious to see what effect a spot of bike work would have - some low intensity exercise can help recovery, but what happens if it's taken up a notch? 🤔 Probably not much good, but I was curious to see what it would feel like 🚴‍♂️ Started out thinking I'll aim for 3hrs of hills (blocks of 15mins with high resistance out-the-seat 35-40rpm pedalling, 5mins recovery pedalling), but after a few high gear efforts I felt pretty drained and struggled to stay out the seat continuously through the high resistance sections, so called it quits early and hopped on the treadmill for a light jog, which didn't feel as bad as I thought it would 🤷‍♂️ overall felt more physically tired than a regular brick session, but I think the mental side played a big part - starting to focus too much on how slow time was moving (a factor I can't control) instead of just keeping the pedals moving when out of the seat (a factor I can control), so I've still got plenty work to do on the mental side of training. 🔅READ🔅 It has been two and a half months of me lifting and eating more than i usually eat and i have already gained 20lbs. The pants worn on day one no longer fit! Seriously i can’t even get them past the bottom of my butt‼️ You can look at the difference between the two pictures above and see the weight difference and it is all going to my lower body. Some of you may say that “the pose is different” but i am not arching my back nor am i tooting my butt out. I am just standing and shifting my weight a little to one leg. You can just go to my profile to see other pics for proof. Anyways, i can see my body getting curvier and a lot of people are saying the same. . Changes that i have noticed: • My thighs touch when i walk • I am aware of my glutes when i move • I feel heavier. . . . . Hey guys! Sorry for not posting in a while. I’m very sick so excuse the mess in the back (when you’re sick but hoe is life). Anyways this is how my butt is looking. I can’t see any difference at the moment but whatever! But have you ever wondered why you need to place your feet/legs slightly different in alignment from one side to the other? You can be born with slight differences in bone structure from one side to the other ☝️. I have this ...... there is a slight forward tilt on the right side of my pelvis, shape is slightly different and the femoral head length. Not visible to the untrained eye - and you may never be told about this either!? So you keep wondering why you need to change you positioning & alignment during Squats, Deadlifts, Leg Press! Here’s the top 3 lifts from my recent trip to the IPF World Championships in Sweden. Weighed in light at 90.7kg 🤷🏼‍♂️. Only managed 2 out of 3 on squats and bench and just an opener on deadlift. Great experience, way more positives than negatives, loads to work and build on. In all honesty I achieved my goal which was not to finish last and to put a total on the board. I’m more than happy in many ways with the outcome as we had no ideas where I was mentally or physically coming into this, being called up from reserve at short notice with little time to prepare or peak, health issues over the first quarter of the year still lingering, not completely cleared up and an on going shoulder issue. So we had to wing the numbers a little and try come up with a plan. I got hugely educated on traveling and competing abroad, with higher weight loss than expected, poor travel arrangements, failures on the nutrition side and very little sleep. But I’m not complaining or making excuses as it all gave me what I wanted which was a chance to learn and gain invaluable experience. Back to it now and probably work towards the British Masters in October or maybe even give it a miss and focus on other things for next year🤔, who knows what tomorrow will bring. 🤸🏻‍♀️Don’t Neglect Your Mobility🤸🏻‍♂️ . . There’s some debate within the fitness industry as to the short-term effectiveness of stretching and foam rolling relative to performance. . . But what’s NOT up for debate is the understanding that if you you’re physically restricted from achieving a desired position due to mobility limitations you can’t expect to utilise a given movement to its full potential. . . Now a lot of people may benefit adequately enough from a well designed lifting program which utilises a well-balanced ratio of movements that encourage greater ranges of motion. . . BUT depending on the level of restriction, associated joints in question and individual circumstances/responses, the only way these end-range positions will be achieved (at least in part) will be due to one’s efforts to stretch, foam roll and utilise other methods of self-treatment. . . Short-term, stretching and foam rolling mightn’t “do what you think it does” but neither does lifting weights for a short period and expecting transcendent gains. . . LEG DAY!! My favorite day of this week, but also my least favorite. We workouted out for a good hour and half and we were dyinggggg. I haven’t maxed out in a while so I warmed up with squats, the first video is of me doing 135 for 2 reps. Then I did 155 for 1 rep, I tried for a second but failed (I cut that out whoops 😂). My PR a couple months ago was 155lb which means I haven’t gotten worse! I hope y’all enjoy this workout! 1. Squats PR 155lbs 1 rep (warmed up with other weight before) 2. Leg press 4x8 3. Hip Thrust (Dumbbell) 3x15 4. Leg Extension 4x8 5. Superset: Adduction /Abduction 3x15 6. Calves 3x30 (10 reps each foot position, toes together, normal, heels together)

Los nacionales son en 13 días y yo terminé ayer mi último entrenamiento. Quizá no cambie mucho mi posición en el ranking, yo soy un 83 boyz gordito jugando en la 105, pero espero mejorar mi total. En el regional forcé un peso en la sentadilla. Cuando hice mi set up con 240k sabía que la iba a fallar, era la primera vez que fallaba una sentadilla por peso. Se me cansó la espalda y solo hice mi primer pedido en peso muerto y la dejé ahí. Ahora toda mi preparación ha sido enfocada en la espalda, específicamente en la zona media-superior (Trapecios) lo que me da más velocidad con más peso. Mi sentadilla, aún con la fatiga del peso muerto, mantiene la velocidad saliendo de abajo y se queda atrás en la parte final.
