Una tarde de desconexión en medio de la semana, un café, un libro y un sitio acogedor... Parece fácil de encontrar pero en el mundo de las prisas, los agobios, los "ponmelo para llevar", los turnos en los que te dicen la hora en la que te tienes que sentar y en la que te tienes que levantar, los tickets mínimos.....(estresa sólo de escribirlo) no es tan sencillo. Por eso cuando tu ciudad todavía te sorprende con rinconcitos como éste, en el que no se han preocupado de aprovechar cada metro cuadrado con el fin de meter una mesa más, sino de crear rincones cómodos y acogedores, donde les preocupa más que estés a gusto en vez de que seas rápido consumiendo y donde lejos de ponerte turnos te permiten que el tiempo se pare por y para ti, recuerdas por qué te gusta tanto una ciudad como Madrid. It definitely feels there is a gap in the market as it were for the mental health of healthcare workers. It is easy to assume that those working in health must have a clean bill of health right? 𝗪𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐆. ✋When you next need to go to your local A&E, routine appointment at your GP surgery or outpatient appointment, spare a thought for the immense pressure healthcare workers endure day in day out. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ We put off having a quick sip of water so that we can make the MDT meeting that has already been postponed by 10 minutes. We hold onto our urine because we only have a 5 minute time window to write our notes before a washing and dressing assessment with a patient. We deprive ourselves of making it home in time to eat with our families because a patient forgot about their appointment and you agreed to squeeze them in later in an already time restricted day. 🥤🚽⛔️😖⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Imagine if the shoe was on the other foot. We would be horrified if our patients felt compelled to bypass basic human functions and needs in the name of helping others out. We quite happily risk our own health for others without a second thought. 🤷🏼‍♀️⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ As healthcare professionals we should be experts in looking after and maintaining our own health. Today I am ______________ ⠀⠀ grateful. ⠀⠀ Today I will __________________ ⠀⠀ express gratitude with abundance. ⠀⠀ My morning started off with mediation, journaling, delicious coffee, and so much gratitude. ⠀⠀ I set those intentions and my day was AMAZING. ⠀⠀ Peaceful Productive Content ⠀⠀ One of the eight limbs of yoga is santosha- contentment...being content with what you have. ⠀⠀ Today was the embodiment of that. Other days...not so much! ⠀⠀ It’s all a work in progress but I think- {{correction: I know}}-starting the day off like this allowed this day to be so great! ⠀⠀ Have you tried this yet? ⠀⠀ Check in with how you feel each morning. Then, set an intention from that space. ⠀⠀ Feeling less than desirable? That’s okay- the yogis had a plan for that too! Think of the opposite of what you’re feeling and state that as your intention. ⠀⠀ For instance, if you wake up super stressed you will say (preferably out loud), “Today, I am calm. Today, I will take deep, calm breaths,” or “Today, I will move calmly.” ⠀⠀ I’m also loving my @thestarttodaybrand journal. Anyone else using one? #gamechanger ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀

Do you eat just because “it’s time to eat”? I do most of the time. Today I realized I was doing that. I took my granddaughters to the 10AM movie and of course, I had some popcorn (I can’t see a movie without it 😂). When we got home I made lunch for the girls and started thinking about what I was going to have. Then I realized - I’m not hungry! I don’t usually stop and ponder this, I just eat. This is a normal thing at dinner time. I have to cook for my husband and I make a plate for myself. Quite often I don’t finish what’s on my plate. Sometimes not even half. So now I’m realizing it’s because I’m not hungry to begin with! How do you keep from doing it? It’s just automatic for me so I guess I just need to be more conscious. The knife angel in Derby City centre. The 27 feet high sculpture is made from around 100,000 bladed weapons collected in knife amnesties from around the UK. Made by British Ironwork Centre with @alfiebradleyart they invited relatives of those killed by knife crime to engrave the blades with names and messages for their loved ones as part of the sculpture. This Aries Full Moon is revealing the truth about those who are persistent in playing victims of a collapsed relationship. (Be it romantic or platonic) Watch those who scream the loudest about how they were treated, ask questions if you need to. Not everyone is sharing all sides of the story. Those who choose to trash a person’s reputation due to their own perceived failures and inadequacies, are not helping themselves heal. If they can’t handle an ending of a relationship of any type, then they should take time to heal those aspects of themselves which are shaken by these endings. They should take time off of social media, get off their phones and actually go within. Social media isn’t going to help heal them, in the long run, they need to do the work themselves. If their personality traits are controlling, overly possessive and manipulative, then they should start there, as this reflects a clear need to do inner child work. Everything about our behaviors have been molded in some way from our very first relationships with our families and friends. They may be feeling that the way things ended was unfair to them, but what they are doing publicly, is unfair to those who decided to move on. There are different ways to look at an issue, it’s time for those who lash out publicly to begin to look at their own actions too.
