A lot of people experience tightness in

🔥🔥HAMSTRING MOBILITY 🔥🔥 . A lot of people experience tightness in their hamstrings, whether it be from day-to-day activities/work (ie. sitting at a desk all day), or working out. Tightness in the hamstrings can actually compress some of the neural structures in your legs causing a lot of neural tension. Here are a few of my favorite hamstring mobility exercises. #Repost @kaitlin.physio ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2️⃣ Have one leg straight against a rack or even in your doorway 🚪 at home. Lower the opposite leg until you feel the stretch in your leg that is elevated. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3️⃣ Similar to the exercise above; however, this time you are sliding the opposite leg on the ground. This one is typically a little bit more intense than the previous one. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 4️⃣ Bring your hip to 90 degrees, then extend your knee until you feel a stretch. 💥Hip Extension💥 - 👍🏼Great series of exercises here from @frankduffyfitness to help improve HIP EXTENSION MOBILITY long term - 💥Active hip extension is important for a variety of activities, including (but not limited to): 🔹Walking 🔹Running/Sprinting 🔹Jumping 🔹Bounding 🔹Locking out a deadlift or squat 🔹etc... - 🚨However, this movement is commonly limited and can contribute to low back pain and irritation if the spine is forced to compensate (into extension) for lack of movement in the hip - 📹Here are four drills that help to restore hip extension and develop strength over time: - 1) Half-Kneeling Hip Extension PAILs/RAILS 2) Split Squat Isometric Hold 3) Couch Stretch PAILs/RAILs (🚨Warning - this might cause some severe cramping the first time you do it!) 4) Bulgarian Split Squat Isometric Hold - 💥PAILs and RAILs are training protocols designed to increase range of motion by combining strength and stretching. The intent is to get the brain to utilize as many motor units (nerves that activate muscle contraction) as possible to achieve a specific movement. - 💥‘ILs’ stand for isometric loading (this is the strength part). The ‘As’ stand for angular, symbolizing the limitless angles in which they can be performed and reference to the closing or opening angle of the motion. The ‘P’ stands for progressive, or “long side” contraction (the muscles that are in a lengthened position), and the ‘R’ stands for regressive or “short side” contraction (the muscles that are in a shortened position) - 💯 Try them out and let me know what you think! . . . According to Dr Bryan Mann, knowing which zone you are in when working out is key. Link in bio!⠀ -⠀ In this video, coach @esposito_strength_club goes over The Med Ball Rotational Shot Put with Step. ⠀ -⠀ Medball Shot Rotational Shot Puts are a great med ball drill to incorporate into your workout programs. It is a great progression as the step add an additional component to generate more force and momentum. This drill helps link up your lower half to upper half power into a explosive med ball movement.⠀ -⠀ Start by standing a few feet from the wall, arms up at shoulder height (think like a shot putter). Load into your back hip as if you are swinging a bat, rotate through your upper back. Stack and line up your elbow behind the ball. As you begin to step forward, load the ball back (scap load). At landing, begin to rotate and throw the ball against the wall as hard as you can. ⠀ .⠀ 🔥Here’s Some Coaching Cues:⠀ ✅Load the back leg and get out of that back hip. Make sure that the athlete stays low as they step behind, standing straight up will prevent the back leg from loading.⠀ ✅As you step, powerfully rotate your hips, then rotate your upper body. This is where the separation comes into play.⠀ ✅Maintain a stiff front leg to help transfer forces from your back half through your front half.⠀ ✅Shot put the ball into a wall with as much force as possible⠀ ⠀ -⠀ 👊 Was this helpful? Holiday protein recipe! ☃️❄️🎄 - I’ll be honest. I’m not the best when it comes to being creative and finding ways to create new recipes for meal prep. I can get stuck in a cycle of preparing my protein and veggies the same way, and for me, that works but the wife loves variety! I personally love a good red meat so after scouring the internet came up with my own version of a dry rub ribeye roast and fixin’s with the ingredients I had in our cupboard. - Dry Rub Ribeye Roast 1 2kg Ribeye 1 Tbsp Kosher Salt 1 Tsp Black Pepper 1 Tsp Garlic Powder 1 Tsp Cayenne Pepper 1 Tsp Oregano 1 Tsp Thyme 4 Minced garlic cloves - I love my red meat and steaks medium rare. I’d suggest getting a meat thermometer to monitor the cooking time versus timing the clock. I cooked this guy at 450F degrees for 20 min then reduced the cooking temperature to 350F degrees for the remainder. I let the internal temperature of the roast get to around 136F degrees then pulled it out. The internal temperature will continue to rise around 4-6 degrees. For this cook, it went up to 141F, a perfect medium rare. Let the roast sit for 15-20 min before cutting and there you have it! Enjoy 😀

On Friday's we always do some type of heavy carry. I saw people doing this version of a zercher carry on the @bandbell instagram page and knew I had to try it. We don't have an earthquake bar like they do (yet) but this was still one of the best carries I've tried in a long time. The combo of kinetic energy with the bouncing plates and placement of the weights on the bar made this very intense. We used roughly 80% of our bodyweight for the walks that were just shy of two full lengths of a basketball court.
