In @ladieswholiftchi partner training edition!! • Working out with a partner in any capacity can be hard and frustrating -but it doesn’t have to be! • Our goal with this class was to leave every couple with a better knowledge of lifting, and how they can structure a successful workout with their boyfriend, girlfriend, mom, co-worker, brother, sister, homie-whatever-every time they go to the gym. • This group crushed it-with the most support and ass kicking for their partners. • Next class coming in April! This is how we build muscle & strength people. @rosieandgym__ touched on this recently & the importance of progressive overload and lifting heavy not being a wetwipe every session! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ With that in mind here’s 4 of my top sets (i haven’t included every rep bc boring only last few... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Hack squats 120kg x8: Probably a good thing you can’t see my face in these 🙈 Low key one of the hardest exercises for me but practice really does male purpose. glad these are on my programme as i usually shy away from them! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Smith machine split squats 50kg x8 each leg: fuckkkkkkking hell these felt like more than 8 reps felt like a large eternity tbf. You have to be pretty messed in the head to enjoy split squats 💀 Single leg work forever making me realise how much weaker my left leg is 🥳 That last rep felt slow AF ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Barbell hip thrusts 130kg x8: Use to be a bit of a pussy with these but been working my weight up & now i’m nearly on double body weight for 8 🌈 Also please excuse the facials.... Finally feeling it in my glutesssssss 🍑 #growlilpancake ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Leg press 200kg x8: started this programme doing same reps with 140kg! A few days ago I've covered how to train when you feel sick. Today, let's look into what research shows on how you can prevent getting sick in the first place. Especially if you are someone who trains hard, taking measures to prevent illness is of relevance. - Research suggests that during periods of high training stress, there is a higher incidence of viral infections [1]. This may be a side effect of training in an overreached/overtrained state [2]. So first, it's key you manage training stress appropriately. If you have periods of intense exercise coming up, make sure you prioritize sleep and stress management to support your recovery. - As you can imagine, a nutrient-dense diet also helps. Diets that include high fruit and vegetable intakes tend to reduce the risk of becoming ill [3]. This may be due to a lower risk of nutrient deficiencies. So many people quit a fitness program when they don’t see the results they were hoping for at the end of the cycle. This may have been due to inconsistency with diet, missing too many training days, or just unrealistic expectations for the timeframe. I will take my weight lifting and hiit programs for example - they are 4 and 6 weeks each. I don’t think that when I get to the end that I’m just done - I set goals to start all over again and up the weights or intensity for the next round. And sometimes it’s time to move on to a new program if your needs have changed. It’s cliche but Rome really was not built in a day and your body isn’t going to be either. You have to show up, you have to work and you have to make it a lifestyle! 🏃🏻‍♀️🤸🏻‍♀️🧘🏻‍♀️🏋🏻‍♀️ Instead of thinking that your program is a means to an end, you should be setting a goal for what you want to do when those x number of weeks are over. Round 2? Do a different program? There are many options! Not sure what your goal should be? No clue where to start? I was always making an excuse not to do something at the time I was thinking about it. . But as soon as I stopped doing that, and just started, it made a difference in so many aspects of my life. . It started with the gym and then it lead into other things. Starting right then and there ended up being the best thing I ever did. I carried it into other segments of my life and soon I was knocking out stuff that I’d put off for so long. . There is no more “ill start tomorrow” “I’ll do it tomorrow” “I’ll fix it tomorrow” I started doing everything right away and I started seeing results! . Want to workout? Start now. Get off your ass and do it in your living room. IG is filled with vids of at home workouts, so stop scrolling and start moving. . Want to Marie Kondo a closet? Do it now and purge those clothes that have been hanging on the same hanger in the same spot for months, maybe years. . Whatever it is that you want to do, DO IT NOW! Stop waiting for the right moment and just get shit done!! . The feeling of accomplishment and pride you will have when you get done with what it is you say you’ll do later will overwhelm you in such a positive way that you will just keep going and you’ll see the results you’ve been searching for. . So do it, start now, today. Monday and tomorrow. Those are just names for days, but your goals are REAL and you deserve to accomplish all that you have planned in your one and only life. . So this is a monstrosity that I concocted, I call it “Mad Minutes”. It starts with 10 jumping lunges, to 10 pushups, to 5 pull-ups, to 5 8-count body builders. For this workout it’s 20 minutes long and each time you complete those 4 exercises that makes a round. For this exercise the objective is to try to get as many rounds as possible in those 20 minutes. This workout can also be adjusted. For example, if you can’t do a push-up then you can do knee pushups, or wall pushups. If you can’t do a pull-up, then you can do Australian rows, chin-ups, standing rows, or bent over bar rows. If you can’t do an 8 count body builder then you can do a normal burpee or mountain climbers. While this workout doesn’t seem difficult, once you hit the 6 or 7 minute mark and you’re on your 4th or 5th set then you really start to feel the pain. This workout is amazing if you ever need a full body workout but don’t have too much time. I know after doing this for the first time, after those 20 minutes I was gassed and laid down for a couple of minutes. Bookmark this workout and give it a shot! Apparel by @insanelabz
