Our bodies are building up those bones until about age 30, when they typically reach peak bone mass (which varies from person to person). Bones are constantly being broken down and rebuilt in tiny amounts. Before reaching peak bone mass, the body is creating new bone faster, but after age 30, the bone building balance naturally shifts and more bone is lost than gained. If your kids are anything like mine, chicken nuggets are about the only food they’ll consistently eat. Though I always strive to buy chicken breasts to make my own #nuggets, breading them with healthy flours (quinoa, coconut, etc) then freezing, I inevitably run out of this creation & fall back on my junky nugget supply 🤪 Decided it was time to get creative & throw in some #meatless options for them to get some #plantbasedprotein as well as get used to different textures. These tofu nuggets came to life! They can be used as nuggets with some delicious sides, or as a salad topper, just about anything you would use regular nuggets (or grilled nuggets) for in a meal. They will take getting used to if your kids are picky with texture but our youngest devoured them, our oldest was on the fence but finished most 😊 They were also #husbandapproved! . Crispy Tofu Nuggets *1/3 cup nutritional yeast (‘nooch’) *2 T oil *2.5 T soy sauce (or #tamari for #glutenfree) *1 t garlic *pinch salt (go easy, soy sauce is salty) *2 T dairy free milk *1 16 oz block extra firm tofu (drained, not pressed) ~Preheat oven to 375. Line two baking sheets w/ parchment paper. In a large bowl, mix together nooch, oil, soy sauce & garlic salt. Add small chunks of tofu. Mix to coat, spread evenly on baking sheet.
