#Repost @itsdesifit ・・・ Inspired by my friend @kelseywells and by all the amazing women featured on @jennysugar ‘s recent @popsugar post, I want to scream out loud SCREW.THE.EFFIN.SCALE. Gaining weight is scary. Trust me, I know. I blame it on our society that managed to instill this FEAR in girls, that if we don’t fit a specific clothes size, we are automatically ugly and un-worthy. I know how it feels to see that number go up on the scale and be worried. Worried that you will not look beautiful anymore. That you will not be worthy anymore. I know how it feels to try your favorite jeans and don’t fit them anymore. I know how it feels to question yourself and wonder if you are actually doing the right thing. 24 years old Désirée was beautiful, but so is 28 years old Désirée. Heavier? Perhaps, if that’s what you want to see, but what I see is a badass women, confident in her own skin. I am so proud of the younger me that decided to prioritize her health, and that day by day decided to measure her progress not by her weight but by focusing on her physical stamina, her strength and her increased self-esteem. Through fitness, not only did I start to love myself like never before, but I also felt empowered. And that feeling of being my own motivation, my friends, makes my soul shine! Being HEALTHY and STRONG is so much more important than being able to fit a size 0. So what are you waiting for? Throw away your scale and join the movement #screwthescale !

I have learned that I was hiding behind all of the excuses & creating a really crazy life that actually could have been quite manageable 💯 . . . I know it FEELS easier to hide behind those excuses then to actually focus on how to get in front of them 😳 . . . Taking care of YOU, making YOU a priority, prioritizing YOU at the top of your busy list is HARD 🙋🏻‍♀️ .... but let me tell you, looking back to the “I’m too busy life” is WAY HARDER 💁🏻‍♀️ . . . Some days you wake up super light out of the blue, and some days you don’t!⠀ ⠀ Apparently my weekend food debauchery decided to catch up with me… Two days later!⠀ ⠀ Nothing a lot of water and cutting carbs for a few days can’t take care of 😊⠀ ⠀ I definitely don’t live by the scale these days, but it does help to keep me within my body’s comfortable range of 240 - 250. My caffeine intake maxes at about 40mg/day from tea (basically, nothing)! ————————— Each morning I drink Green Tea! I love all tea. I have never been a coffee drinker. I made it thru college and Optometry school without caffeine! I’m just not someone who runs on caffeine or uses it as my crutch. I get up at 3:45-4am to workout and I don’t use pre-workout. It’s just water for this girl! My days are long, but I just chug along 😉. ———————— About once a month I may have a Monster or Bang. However, it literally takes me 3 days to finish it 😂! This is where I am starting from. This has become the new day one. Don’t know what I weigh but I know it’s the highest I’ve ever been. I know it’s a Tuesday instead of a Monday but I can’t wait another 6 days to start. I am a work in progress but I’m praying to my lucky stars that this time something sticks and I can look back at this picture a year from now and thank this girl for starting on a Tuesday and choosing to be a little bit better every day after. ❤️.
