Finally back to doing deadlift singles. It’s been quite so time since I last did any, so I started this block off with a programmed top single @ 6. Idk about y’all but I’m terrible at gauging RPE below like 9, so I think 250/551 was a good place to call it for today 🤷🏾‍♂️ Followed with 215/475 10x1 all hook grip (ouch) - all of which were preceded by some light volume technique work on squats @ 150/330 for 5s, not too shabby of a day 💪🏽 @charlie_barbellmedicine @tysonsplayground #tpstrong

Superset of leg press, walking lunges, leg extensions (don’t go too heavy focus more on flooding the muscles with blood and feeling the burn!!) 4 sets, 10, 20 steps, 10 4. Everyone’s posting all these 10 year transformations but I’m not gonna post a pic of my 9 year old self lol so farthest back I’m going is 13. Who the hell spends hours of their everyday sitting in the gym for their own entertainment? I mean I pretty much sacrificed the time I used to spend grinding out video games or tv shows for the gym. Seems pretty crazy right? Two or three years ago I would’ve agreed. Seems totally crazy and pointless. However through the years I found that my love of weightlifting has been far more mental than physical. When you’re squatting heavy weight and you’re 5, maybe 6 reps in, you’re mind starts to give out. Not your body. Your arms go numb, your vision blurs, the mental fatigue hits you like a cement truck. I used to fear this feeling of agony, now I live for it. Those moments make me feel a way that nothing else can, it’s meditative in a sense. Any troubles I brought into the gym vanish, all that matters is that I get the bar up. When you find find purpose in the gym besides just trying to look good for the girls, it becomes so much more than just “lifting.” It’s about mental toughness, determination, perseverance, and friendship. The amount of doors lifting has opened in my life are innumerable, and I am positive it will continue to do so.
