. . . Building the physique that you are proud to accomplish is not rocket science 🚀 if you execute the basics well with consistency over time. Too often these days gym goers new to the fitness realm look for the easy route or or quick fixes. The “get results quick” drive appears to be prevalent in the fitness industry and wanna be athletes look at fast tracking their progress results often self administering large quantities of PED’s without a solid baseline of “time under the bar” to begin with. . . . The truth is you “can’t cheat biology” and although PED’s can give you the illusion you have gained instantaneous results, I’ve seen so many times the quickly gained results diminish if a baseline of lean tissue has not been built up from years of progressive overload when an athlete has come off a cycle leading to higher doses or not coming off for an extended period. . . . Now I’m not bagging performance enhanced athletes at all as this is a choice you are free to make. I am stating that before you consider taking your training to the next level be sure to utilise your natural genetic potential from years of training under progressive overload so you can maximise your gains from a solid baseline before administering PED’s for the full effect if you choose to go down that path. 👊💪 . . Your heart rate has a direct correlation to how hard your body is working. - The higher your heart rate, the harder your body is working, which means you are also burning more calories. - Muscles need Oxygen to work. Your heart delievers that Oxygen for you through the blood. But it also moves CO2 to the lungs to be expired into the air. Fatigue comes from excess CO2, not a decreased amount of Oxygen. I still like to think of it as a O2/CO2 ratio (make sure you breathe correctly!) The faster the heart pumps, the faster Oxygen is being spread to the working muslces and the faster CO2 is being moved to the lungs. - I know I just said the same thing twice, just dont overlook simple concepts. If you are trying to lose weight, odds are you should not spend half your workout doing bicep curls. Pushing yourself to the limit at the end of your workout also known as “to failure” is crucial to ensure you walk out of the gym knowing you have given it your all! Going to failure pushes loads of blood into the muscle and breaks down the muscle fibers to allow for the muscle to come back bigger and stronger. If you are looking for more growth in the gym, try adding a final set that you push yourself to your limit. For shoulders I like to finish with machine lateral raises. Machine helps keep my form while I push myself to failure so I don’t compensate with other muscle groups.
