FIX TIGHT HIP FLEXORS! • This is one of my favourite dynamic stretches to help balance out the negative side effects of sitting down all day. • The hip flexor can be tricky to stretch but this makes it effortless. • Teaching points: • ✅Keep your back leg as straight as possible. ✅Keep the front foot flat on the raised surface. ✅Think of it is a downwards and forwards motion, your knee should travel over your front toe. • I do this multiple times per day and incorporate it into my warm up. Snatch Progress! • When I first started Olympic Lifting, the Clean & Jerk technique felt much easier than the Snatch. • For a long time I really didn’t enjoy Snatching and it felt very uncomfortable. • 10 months later, I now much prefer the Snatch - I can’t describe how satisfying it is once the technique starts to fall into place! • The first video shows me struggling to catch the bar in a deep squat, I am very unstable and this was 65kg for a 1 Rep Max. • In the second video I get under the bar quickly, catch much lower and did 73kg for 2 reps. (I could have done more but it’s not always about lifting the heaviest weight, technique is more important). • These videos were taken 10 months apart, however I actually had a 5 month break from Olympic Lifting, whilst I trained and competed in my first ultra marathon. • Following this classic strength program set by @adam_fedorciow and @kazem.panjavi has shown me that with consistent intelligent training, you can achieve anything you want. • I often get asked, “where do you find the motivation?”. To all these “Sanctional” event coordinators that are qualifying athletes for the CF Games: This seems like common sense?... Don’t have people programming the events for the competition ALSO be the coaches of athletes competing in these events.  What am I missing? ------------------------------------------------- I'm all for this format/changes and think it should work just fine, possibly even better than the last format. But these comps have a responsibility to be un-biased. I love that the events are varied in structure And programming but I see this programming bias potential as an issue that needs to be resolved and should just be common sense. Thoughts? Am I missing something? -------------------------------------------------- (Ps. Don't say that programming doesn't matter. It does. And That's not the point, I'm thinking bigger picture for the "sport" as a whole and just want to start a discussion. While they're built for athletic bodies that allow movement and comfort in the legs, my favorite thing about Fran Denim is that the waistbands are gap free!
