Already snatching and clean & Jerk more then his body weight and lifting some proper weight off the floor now with purpose and intensity... really well done D! 💪🏽🔥. . . . I believe that its important to understand for ourselves the motives and purpose behind our training. Why do we do what we do? For what purpose do we want to invest time and money into our fitness? Is it for a specific sport? Is it for general fitness and wellness? Or is it for aesthetics and social media? 😉. . Truth be told neither of the above are wrong or right, all really matters is what we want for ourselves. However its important that we apply the appropriate intentions and intensity only then we can really grow and learn from our journey. . My clients have very much so benefited in applying this principle, for one they are more present during the sessions and therefore for that 30-90 min all their focus is on themselves leaving all the life worries outside. . Letting @bearkomplex know where the 2019 @crossfitgames open is for me... Now it is time to get ready for the age group Qualifier. Making the decision to go to the 35-39 Yr old Division was not an easy one, but once I made the decision it lessened the stress of the open. This year started out stressful and confusing as to what my path looked like to the @crossfitgames. The clear understanding of the Age Group Path in May made it feel more like the old way, the Qualifier being my Regionals, but in the comfort of home! This one was my second attempt & we didn’t take the third because well... we didn’t need to & that was exactly our plan coming in. (Surprise I actually listened and didn’t ask to go up). Weighing 70.Liter of water. My warm ups were actually TERRIBLE in the back, but on stage I flipped it around! Almost the exact opposite for clean and jerks because it’s just like that sometimes. Im excited about how this one FELT & looking forward to more! @hookgrip with @get_repost ・・・ @mattiecakesssss (76kg, @hookgripusa) snatching 106kg/233lb at the 2019 Las Vegas International Open! Working on some stability training! . . It’s a good idea to train your body in an unstable (but controlled) environment. . . The BOSU ball and stability ball are two modalities that will help you do just that! . . When you train in an unstable environment, you are forced to engage a lot more muscles in order to keep you balanced. . . This type of stimulation will carry over nicely to sports and every day life! . . If you can squat on a BOSU ball, you can squat on a flat stable surface (the flat ground- where we spend most of our day) . . Context: in the middle of competition, the only thing that matters is a successful lift. That’s not what I’m referring to with this post today. I’m referring to the other 99.9% of your lifts throughout your life. If you want to stick around and continue lifting late into your life, you must make QUALITY of training the most important factor. Those who chase excellence wind up finding their true strength as a side effect & don’t wind up with massive career ending back pain or knee injuries.🥊 . Lifting heavy is a process. There are no short cuts & if you place the weight on the bar as a higher priority than how well you’re moving it, it will come back to haunt you.🥊 . Practice becomes permanent. This means if you practice quality technique over and over & don’t sacrifice your body by pushing into sloppy technique in training, it will carry over into your competition day as well.🏋🏼‍♀️ . What doesn’t kill you may make you stronger, but It will do so by reinforcing those poor mechanics (making your knee cave or back round harder to fix down the road).❌ . I’m impressed more by a good quality powerful squat in training than a sloppy heavier squat ... are you? To say I am proud of her is an understatement ♥️.
