People who don’t know me assume that I train for endless hours a day. In truth I am a single mum who spends most of her time juggle kids, teaching classes and sitting in front of a computer writing. I write for health and fitness magazines and I write personalized plans for people who want to look, feel and perform better. So I don’t workout all day, every day. I can’t. Over the years I have figure out what works for my body, but as a trainer and a coach i have learned a lot about what works for women bodies too. The key to staying in shape is to train right and eat right. But not only that, its about managing stress and sleeping right too. Optimal health is like baking a cake. You need to factor in everything (all the ingredients) to get the right recipe to make the perfect cake. If one of the ingredients is not right, such as not enough sleep, or not the right amount of food at the right time, then the cake won't turn out right. The first step is to start listening to your body, so ditch those calorie counters and start actually tuning in to your body. The body is the most amazing machine that is constantly telling you want it need for optimal health. If you are hungry then eat. Stop eating when you are feeling full, no matter how much food is left on your plate. If you are tired, rest. Take note of the difference between true fatigue and laziness. Take note of how you feel after eating certain foods? Do you feel bloated and lethargic? Or do you feel energized and full of vitality? Dinner served with a ice cold raspberry tea. (Thought I was gonna say beer right, gotcha) 😝🙂🙃🙂 . . ✨✨Confession ✨✨ growing up we used to drink lots of juices & sodas, we actually had all flavors of juices like tang, Kool-Aid and our specialty iced tea (Spanish people) 😩😂 So when I became an adult I kind of hated it and only drank water, sparkling drinks or ginger ale (I know I know terrible ) 🤦🏻‍♀️ . So I wasn’t able to go to the gym today. Today was practically my last day of school. I have taken 9 college exams and my brain is fried. I had two exams to take today so I got home and slept and unfortunately I slept over my gym time and I slept over the CrossFit class time. Tomorrow morning I plan to go to CrossFit, because I have no school tomorrow. It’s been hard balancing school, and cooking healthy and CrossFit all at the same time. I’m just excited that summer is almost here and I can solely focus on my weight loss journey also hopefully I’ll see more results because I plan to be active this summer and not just sitting in class all day. The first picture was taken in late February in Universal Studios wearing this shirt, I’ve never told anybody this but there was a ride that I couldn’t ride there, I sat in the seat and the contraption wouldn’t go over my head, so what that meant was I was simply too big to ride that ride. After that I was completely terrified to ride the other rides, I never told my family this, I just made up excuses not to go on certain rides, but that is the moment when I especially knew that something had to be done about my weight. I was embarrassed and ashamed that I let myself get that big.
