I woke up this morning and the 1st thing i said was “Thank you Lord “ i have been on this fitness journey for almost 2 years and and I’ve been so determined to keep pushing myself i went from 303 pounds to 210 pounds and I’ve built so much muscle along the way and my overall health has been Amazing i feel great ! Thanks to my brother @a.gonzalezfit for pushing me and sticking by my side since day one reminding me that life will be so much better for me if i keep pushing. Blood don’t determine who family is you have definitely been a shoulder to lean on when times been rough for me . “Nog steeds naar de sportschool? Hoe houd jij dat vol? Ik ben er maar mee opgehouden hoor, iedere keer in mijn eentje”.....zei iemand tegen mij die ik onderweg sprak. (Iemand die misschien 1 keer in de zoveel maanden naar de sportschool ging en dat was nog veel, zeg maar. 😉) Nou, simpel...omdat ik weet wat er gebeurt als ik zou stoppen, dan ben ik in no time weer terug op mijn oude gewicht! “Ja, maar jij was toch nooit zo dik?” Als ik dan zeg dat ik 5 jaar geleden nog 102,5kg woog, krijg ik een verbaasde blik toegeworpen.... Het is zomaar een anekdote uit het dagelijks leven. Voor wat dat betreft is er voor mij persoonlijk dus wel een flinke knop omgegaan toen ik eind augustus 2014 begon met afvallen, sporten en gezondere keuzes maken. Sommigen dachten dat het een fase zou zijn, een bevlieging, dat ik het toch niet zou halen. Er werd toen ook door iemand letterlijk tegen me gezegd “Ach, dat gaat jou toch nooit lukken”. Ik ben inmiddels 5 jaar verder. Veel hindernissen tegengekomen onderweg. Een jaar moeten herstellen van overtraind zijn. Te maken met het feit dat sommige delen van het lichaam niet helemaal meewerken door o.a. #scoliose of andere oorzaken. Toch heeft het mij er niet ondergekregen. Ik ben doorgegaan. Ik ben nog steeds niet super slank, ik ben nog steeds geen prototype “fitgirl”, sommigen lachen me misschien zelfs uit om dit soort redenen, maar het zal me een zorg zijn! Ik ben niet perfect, mijn trainingen zijn niet perfect, maar ik GA tenminste! En dat is het allerbelangrijkste!! #youmayseemestrugglebutyouwillneverseemequit!! Vandaag was #backday + #biceps training.
