Nail the deadlift, or it will nail you! Trust me on this, I’m talking from experience 😩 The way you set up for the deadlift will ultimately determine how you perform during the movement. The biggest mistake I often see is people bend the spine to get down into position and then try to organise their spine. But it’s already too late. As a result they end up “hanging” off the lower back for the entire movement. Instead you should hinge at the hip followed by a bend at the knees to reach the bar. This loads the glutes and hamstrings, so when you pull the bar off the floor - no more lower back burn! 🔥
