Who gave you the idea that your body size determined your beauty? . . Who told you that if you were smaller you would be more successful? . . Who told you that the number on the scale determined your self worth and ability to chase your dreams? . . No one specific had to tell you because it's been engrained into our heads from social media and society. When we allow our self worth to come from numbers, whether that is on the scale what we lift, how much we make, etc... We lose a sense of our own worth. . . Benefits of High Carb Days⚡️ . We all know that we need Carbs and that they are fuel for us for day to day tasks and to power us through workouts… but some people are still “scared” of carbs…👀 . Some people think that “carbs make you fat” that statement isn’t necessarily wrong… Too many carbs putting you over your caloric intake to maintain your current weight can indeed cause you to gain a bit of weight and some fat…💯 . It really it comes down to Calories In VS. Calories Out.💡 . Depending on your goal you can have more or less carbs in your diet! Balance is the KEY!🔑 . Example :👇🏼 . -Fatloss (Being in a caloric deficit or eating less than what your body needs to maintain its current body weight) . -Lean Gain or Bulk Phase (Caloric Surplus or eating more than what your body needs to maintain its current body weight) . Depending on whether you like carbs more than protiens and fats, you can adjust your intake based on your preferences and liking!🍴 . If you have been in a deficit and you have a high carb day, your body will use it to replenish muscle glycogen stores and use it as fuel! You will see the difference in your energy levels, performance, strength and overall mood depending on whether or not your used to having low and high days!💪🏼 . For me the high carb day did me good! I Was able to hit 275lbs for 5 fairly easy! Could definetely tell that the higher carbs from the previous day were doing me good!🤙🏼 . . High School Junior (left) vs College Junior (right) - As a junior in high school my first license had me listed at 138lbs - Last night i took the picture on the right and weighed in at 189lbs - My first year going to the gym I would go at 5:00am before school started in hopes of avoiding everyone - I remember on multiple occasions that when the gym was too busy i would take that day off because i was THAT insecure about my body and my strength - I would show up in sweatshirts and hoodies, put my nose down, and give my best effort despite my lack of knowledge about lifting - I spent countless hours watching youtube videos of the people i wanted to be like/look like someday - I never had a coach, I’ve never wanted a coach, I wanted to show people that i could do this all on my own - People would laugh when I’d tell them about “isolation” and “mind muscle connection” while they spent all day trying to get their deadlift numbers up and neglect accessory work - My response? I turned down their voices and turned up my headphones - I fell in love with the GRIND not the recognition - And it’s the GRIND that keeps me coming back every single day - I’m a full time college student at a prestigious private university, i’ve started multiple businesses, worked multiple jobs, played sports, had social/family obligations - I’ve had SO many valid excuses to take days off, miss my macros, or take a few weeks off - And people ask “how can you be so motivated?” - It’s not only motivation, I don’t ALWAYS want to goto the gym - It’s discipline - And my confidence stems from my mindset, not my physical body - There will always be enhanced athletes bigger stronger and leaner than me but i can’t control that - I can control the fact that i truly believe i’m the hardest working person in any room at any given time - I don’t just say that, i take pride in PROVING that on a daily basis - If we’re being honest, the only thing stopping you from feeling the same way about yourself is excuses🤷‍♂️ - If you’re reading this, go spend some time today working on your PASSION whatever that may be - Dreams are useless unless you go out and do something about them💯
