We've all been there. When sitting at a desk becomes way too uncomfortable and we start to feel overwhelmed by the amount unnecessary thoughts that come in and out, distracting us from achieving our goals. We often fall into bad habits to compensate for that feeling of disappointment or we start to spiral into negative thinking for not completing that important task. Other times we make the conscious decision to practice selfcare to replenish body and mind with the energy we need to regain high levels of concentration and increase our productivity. That disappointing feeling when you get off of the toilet and don't feel pride in what your bowels produced. In Chinese Medicine there can be many causes for constipation. One cause can be due to the connection between your lungs and large intestine. When your lung qi is strong and moving freely, so are your bowels. That's why it's so important when feeling constipated to exercise and encourage movement through your lungs, as this could have a flow on effect to your large intestine. Constipation can be a complex issue, so make sure that you have the appropriate investigations but also know that Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine may be an alternative to consistent laxative use. I get it, feeling comfortable in your own skin is a continuous struggle at times. Instead of the emphasis on getting the “ideal body” (which is unrealistic), just focus on your HEALTH. Our bodies are constantly changing and they are a product of our environment. Here’s a few little tips! - Fuel your body with Whole Foods 🥕 🥦 - Limit foods that are inflammatory for your body 🧁 - Drink plenty of water 💦 - Get your body moving! Try and get in at least 60 mins a day of physical activity 🏃🏻‍♀️ If you think this is easy, then great!
