There are a lot of ways to do keto and the best way is the one you can stick to long term. When I was carving out my own personal keto style I stumbled across the OKL chart (Optimal Ketogenic living) this chart is how I set my macros. This philosophy or style treats protein as a goal, carbs as a limit and fat as a lever. The lever part can get a little confusing. Fat is used to control your caloric deficit. If you want to create a larger deficit, eat less fat. If you want the create a smaller deficit eat more fat. This is what works for me. It’s probably not what you were taught and it might not be for you but I wanted to share what has been the best approach for my personal journey. Current condition. Dropped weight sitting at 60kg and I'll continue now until I get to 57kg where I'll sit most of spring and summer. I've had a dabble in strength training and I just don't enjoy it. My motivation has dropped and I just meander around the gym. Guys this is Dr Bae 👩🏻‍⚕️, sharing with you what has worked for me. These are my own tips. So don’t get crazy on me if you disagree. Ya’ll know I’m not a doctor 🤣 . Start off with 12 hours. Set aside a time you will start and end. You can download an app and track your time on their. . Know which liquids you will drink and have them handy. Teas, coffee, sparkly water, ACV. . Know what you will eat when you break your fast. Your body will be ready to absorb all the nutrients and put it to work. When you break your fast, eat only until you’re satisfied... don’t gorge yourself. . Make sure you drink enough water. Stay hydrated. If you’re trying to stay away from the kitchen, just make sure you still have water available at all times. . Do it gradually. Start off doing a 12-14 hour fast. See how you feel and increase the time from there. . Doing a zero carb or just extremely low carb and high fat really helps me out before starting any fast. . . Earlier this month, I quietly celebrated the 10-year anniversary of starting a business. These 10 years have been as much about navigating change as they have been about growing a business. The only thing hard about making this was chopping the veggies😂 RECIPE BELOW ⬇️⬇️⬇️ Prep Time 10 min Total Time 10 min Servings 8 Calories 103 kcal Ingredients 2 cucumbers, peeled and chopped into 1/4 slices 4 -6 Roma tomatoes, chopped 1/2 red onion, sliced 1/4 cup olive oil 1 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice 2 teaspoon dried oregano 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese Salt and Pepper to taste Kalamata olives, pitted and sliced(to taste) Instructions In a large bowl combine cucumbers, tomatoes, and onions In a smaller bowl mix olive oil, lemon juice, and dried oregano. Poor over the vegetables and mix well. Season salad with salt and pepper. Sprinkle feta cheese and olives over the top of salad. Taste & ajust spices if needed. One of my favorite dinners because it’s so easy (practically hands off until it’s on the table after you get it started) and the leftovers can be used for days (to be used in tamales later this week, maybe?!🤤)! Brunching my way through life 🤗 . . . . . . Location and Food deets: Yesterday, @shabnum_hussain1 and I finally tried @annashouseus in Westland, and we were beyond impressed!! They have a SEPARATE GLUTEN FREE KITCHEN to avoid cross contamination!! Thanks to that, they’re able to make the majority of their offerings gluten free, so there’s a lot to pick from and try!! I got the gluten free gingerbread pancakes with eggs and hash-browns, and a lavender maple latte, Shabnum got french toast with eggs and vegan sausage, and everything was on point!

#mondaymotivation : it’s a snow day, the kids are home, my schedule is off now, I feel sluggish after too much red wine this weekend, it’s cold, I’m tired, I don’t feel like it —> all the excuses that I could have used to not eat nutritiously to fuel my body or to skip my scheduled workout this morning. However (and I know I’ve said it so many times before😉) I try to #nevermissamonday because I want to make sure I set the tone for the week in a way that’s going to help me be productive and meet my goals. Spinach Stuffed Chicken Breast with Cauliflower😋 ... Recipe Below⬇️⬇️⬇️ . . Prep Time 10 min Cook Time 20 minutes Total Time 30 minutes Servings 4 Calories 241 kcal Ingredients • 4 chicken breast • 1tableapoon olive oil • 1 teaspoon paprika • 1 teaspoon salt divided • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened •1/4 cup grated Parmesan • 2 tablespoons lite mayonnaise • 1 1/2 cups chopped fresh spinach • 1teaspoon garlic, minced •1 teaspoon • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes Instructions Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Place chicken breast on the cutting board and drizzle with olive oil. Add the paprika, 1/2 teaspoon salt, garlic powder, and onion powder to a small bowl and stir to combine. Sprinkle evenly over both idea of chicken. Use a sharp knife to cut a pocket into the side of each chicken breast. Set chicken aside. Add cream cheese, Parmesan, mayonnaise, spinach, garlic, red pepper and remaining 1/2 teaspoon of salt to small mixing bowl and stir well to combine. Spoon the spinach mixture into each chicken breast evenly. Place the chicken breast in a 9x13 baking dish. There’s something about cold mornings that make me crave pancakes...so I honored that craving this morning with my favorite, simple protein and fiberlicious pancakes (with no added sugar!🥞 They’re so delicious, I don’t need to top them with anything, but you can if that’s your thing! Also treated myself to a little sweeter and creamier coffee than usual too (I prefer it black, but sometimes this is what sounds good to me😉).
