#wholebodyworkout⁠⠀ We’ve kept it nice and simple (but by no means easy!) for today’s flow. This simple #wholebody flow works a lot of major muscle groups and is a nice short one to include a couple of times per week if you’re short of time.⁠⠀ .⁠⠀ As your baby grows, the demand on your muscles will increase! Imagine carrying around a wriggling 5kg kettle bell for hours, whilst trying to put the washing on, you would expect your body to feel shattered after! To prevent the typical aches that can occur postpartum, we can condition our muscles to cope with this and not fatigue as quickly. Regular strengthening exercises is the best way and you don’t have to have access to a gym or weights to do this.⁠⠀ .⁠⠀ After having a baby, it is so important to listen to your body (really listen!). Although exercise is important, allow yourself some rest and try to avoid pressure on yourself to get back to pre-baby weight. At the same time, don’t be afraid to exercise. Start by understanding core engagement (see @finolaphysio’s story highlight called Ture Core) and then start with lower intensity exercises, building up as you get stronger.⁠⠀ .⁠⠀ ⚡️Plank arm raises - #core, #hamstrings, #glutes, #lats & shoulder muscles⁠⠀ ✨Press ups - pecs, #biceps & #triceps⁠⠀ ⚡️Sphinx to seal - #triceps & #lats⁠⠀ ✨Down dog - #rotatorcuff, #calves & #hamstrings⁠⠀ ⚡️Child pose - stretches the lower back⁠⠀ ✨Camel pose with pulses - #quads, #glutes, #abs, biceps, deltoid⁠⠀ .⁠⠀ As normal, don’t do any exercise which causes pain, worsening of symptoms or uncontrolled doming of the stomach and see a physio for guidance.
