Angles and lighting matter. 😂 But it's always fun to see the difference -175 lbs has made on my face. __ Also NGL, I had to photoshop the photo on the right. There were some bats in the cave that needed to be taken care of. 🦇 __ Anyways I wanted to ask a question: if you are currently overweight or obese, do you have darker skin in your creases and folds? I used to have darker skin on my neck, armpits, and etc. (When I was younger, I thought it was dirt. 🤷🏻‍♀️) Although I had the issue the majority of my life, it was only addressed once by my previous OBGYN after the birth of my daughter. She mentioned it could be an underlying symptom of PCOS. Although I didn't follow up with my DR, I found out that the darkened skin could also be a sign of Type 2 Diabetes. While I was never formally diagnosed with either, the issue with dark skin completely disappeared with my weight loss. __ I guess the point I'm making is be aware of your body. It might be subtle or it might be pronounced, but your body does have its ways of telling you that something is wrong. I went the majority of my life with this issue, never thinking it could be a sign of something more serious aside from just excess fat. So if something doesn't seem right, seek advice from a professional. Something as simple as losing weight and making a dietary lifestyle change can improve the issue, BUT it's always best to ask a doctor. Taking a rest day today 💕 My bod is sore & it’s cold and rainy so motivation is v low 😂 - I’m feeling AMAZING though - probably the best I’ve ever felt in a very very long time 🥰 I’m going to be honest w/ you - bulking has been scary af. While I was not necessarily extremely under eating by any means, I put up a mental block of eating 2000 cals or less for way more than a year - which is definitely a caloric deficit for my body type especially with how often I workout. I got to a place where I was comfortable with my physique and didn’t want to risk gaining any weight (fat) back 🙂 - Fast forward to now & finally plunging into a “bulk,” not only for gains but for my metabolism and mental health - I’m eating 2700 calories/day & still counting 😏, v full but my energy and strength is unreal. I’ve been waking up early/easier, less tired as often, lifting heavier, and feeling better. You don’t really know how bad you’re feeling until you feel even better. I can’t thank myself enough for breaking mental barriers and stepping outside my comfort zone bc I’m feeling like a million bucks both physically and mentally! ✨

It may seem like a poor alternative to a standard barbell back squat but this couldn't be further from the truth. When performed correctly this exercise can have significant benefits and will revamp your leg days, guaranteed! Check out some of the reasons you should give these a go! 1️⃣ Avoid back pain The Bulgarian split squat places significantly less stress on the lower back since you’ll be performing the movement one leg at a time and using a lot less weight. In addition, if you perform the exercise using dumbbells for additional weight, you’ll be holding the weights at your sides as opposed to carrying a heavy loaded bar directly on your back. This will allow you to maintain tension on the glutes, hamstrings and quads without loading the spine. 2️⃣ Can be performed anywhere This is a relatively simple exercise in terms of the equipment it requires. Anywhere you can elevate your back leg will allow you to perform some Bulgarian split squats. This means you can throw these into any gym routine and even add them into your home workouts to maximize the tension you place on the legs during your session. 3️⃣ It's a killer! Plain and simple, when this exercise is performed correctly it is horrific. It will add size to your quads, hams and glutes, and will also increase single leg strength and improve stability. Add in the benefit of increased mobility and the fact it will promote hip flexibility and it's a winner all day.
