But depending on the season I have a few more: Summer: Absolutely looove Snorkeling, Xmas: Felt crafts for the tree (OK, Am I the only one who thinks that Xmas ornaments are crazy expensive?), Baking, Indoor Gardening, Running… I’ve had so many that my husband use to call it “fevers” (no wonder why), I guess he’s desiring every day that “Yoga Fever” passes but I’ll remain strong! 🍃Are you an early bird or a night owl? Early bird for sure! Early to bed and early to rise (bad thing is that I’m not yet wealthy or wise). 🍃Do you have a tattoo ? Not a tattoo person but I have to confess that I had my belly button piercing age (much to my dismay bloody hole still visible). 🍃Do you have a pet ? I have a lovely cat, not in any of my yogi pictures as he’s not interested on social media. 🍃Your favourite quote ? When I hear: “Wanna go out for dinner?” 🍃Any bad habit? I used to drink 2 Coca Cola a day! And I realized that any respectable yogi is a Coca Cola fan so my New Year resolution for 2019 was ZERO COCA COLA (Not the same that Coca Cola Zero), and until now almost 3 months clean! 🍃Are you a hoarder? Not too much, having a small flat helps. But I absolutely hate when things are back in fashion and I just throw them out. 🍃What is THE thing you want to do before you die? I was experimenting how deep I could get into a backbend from a lying down position. This way uses less momentum than from a standing position so it allows me to tune more mindfully into the movement. The first attempt after seeing the replay I saw that I bent my legs too early which created compression into my spine. The second time I extended my upper legs more which activated the psoas muscle, creating anterior rotation into the pelvis and was then able to relax into the backbend. The second attempt I did not experience a feeling of compression coming out of the backbend as I did the first time.

Mayurasana brings the yogis back to the cosmic Shiva-principle, namely destuction. Of what? Destruction of the poisonous substances we take in, from many ways: food, sensory inputs, thoughts, wrong actions, and the like. The Hatha pradipika claims the peacock pose is able to destroy even Kalakuta, a super deadly poison, from which both the Deva and the Asuras extracted Amrita, that is a very powerful long-life substance. But before enjoing the nectar, they had to deal with the letal fumes of kalakuta, that killed them. AWARENESS • Now this is something I talk about in class allot! For me my practice is a time I can connect inwards and become aware of my thoughts, my feelings and my body! If we are not aware of ourselves how can we grow and improve? If we are not aware of our bodies, the tension we hold how can we rid that tension? If your not aware of your body how do you know where it’s strengths and weaknesses lie? If we are not aware of our thoughts how do we decide if those thoughts are healthy or not? If we are not aware of our breathing habits how do we improve the breath? Self awareness is key in growing and improving ourselves. Slow down every once in a while, be quiet and connect inwards. It might feel a bit awkward or a waste of time but how can becoming self aware be a waste of time? Women have a lot of external influences on them when it comes to body image, particularly through social media. I’m torn between thinking it’s damaging for women and that it’s also really positive - if if it is used in the right way. It’s about how we, as women, use the tools around us. If you know you can easily be made to feel body conscious, you need to think more about who or what it is that you’re following on the internet. There are so many heavily photo-shopped images, and lots of women who simply have a body type that is just unrealistic for them to achieve - everybody is built differently! So it can easily bring you down. Lots of powerful women, of all shapes and sizes share content now to encourage everyone to be happy with how they’re built. Dnes jsem byla poprvé na lekci Janči @jana_najbrtova a byla to bomba! Nejen že mě to nabavilo, ale zároveň jsem se i zapotila jako 🐷. Kdo si myslí, že jóga je jen tak nějaký protahování, tak je na omylu! Poprvé po dvou letech, co aktivně cvičím jógu, jsem vyzkoušela yogawheel (should I go for it?! 😍), poprvé od října jsem si dala výbornou kávu (bože dej, ať mi za to žaludek nenadává, na třestí gastroskopii už během dvou měsíců nejdu 😄!) a brunch k tomu. Existuje snad lepší ráno? Toto je, prosím, vrchol mého foodstylingu. Laughter. I was sharing with someone a bit about my own journey with the chakras and the conversation led to laughter. We all know it’s really good for us. How many times do you laugh a day? Watch some little kids for awhile and you will see they find so much to laugh about. As we get older we get more serious and less easy to surprise. Plus, being surprised isn’t always comfortable. It means you didn’t know something and we know everything, right? When we allow ourselves the freedom to not know (and be in beginner’s mind like the child new to the world) we have the opportunity to see things we didn’t see before. Let’s let ourselves rest in the concept that people who are really in the know know they don’t know everything. Let’s be comfortable with that, even excited by it. And, since we already know we don’t need to know everything we can let down our guard a little and be surprised. Hopefully many many times a day! Hopefully so surprised we can’t breathe and tears run down our faces. Play and exploration are an important part of our wellness. They are what keep us growing up and yet also young. Right? We are all new to this world. How come we think we need to know everything? How about this: How about we aim to be grounded and trust ourselves enough to “handle things” so that we can also trust ourselves to have a good time. Let’s trust ourselves to explore and honor the adventure of not knowing. When was the last time you laughed until you cried and couldn’t breathe? I hope it happens again soon. Day 2️⃣3️⃣ of #LegsForMiles with @cyogalife ➡️ #Vrksasana aka #TreePose in #PinchaMayurasana aka #ForearmBalance and I’ve modified carmens pose to include #Handstand or #AdhoMukhaVrksasana in Vrksasana aka tree pose 🛣🐾🐛 🐾 I struggle to guide my legs into lotus daily so freely telling them to move whilst in a handstand was definitely not going to happen today 😂 but I still practiced my handstand whilst moving my legs into a tree pose. 🐾With the warm up tips from @yogawithaislinn getting into tree pose whilst in pincha wasn’t as difficult as I thought it would be; keeping my left leg bent and to the side was the issue. I struggled with balancing as more weight was added to the side of me. This is a variation of pincha I will continue to work on. . . . H E A R T I’ve been doing a lot more back bends and heart openers in my practice lately and mainly because I want to work on them and work on my back flexibility. But then I realised there might be another reason thanks to @laurenewilkie as always 😉 Lauren felt there was a bit of fear in me when trying to push further in these poses which is not surprising as you can feel a bit vulnerable when you are in those poses, like your heart is very exposed. The hard times in life can close you off in certain parts of you and I guess for me it’s really about putting your heart back out there. At the end of the day we are all vulnerable to hurt, heartbreak and disappointment but it is apart of life and if you don’t put yourself out there you will never know what life can bring you. Life is a risk but you have to take risks in order to grow. And I don’t just mean relationships. I’m allowing my heart to be open to friendships I was so closed off to before. But still be mindful of exposing your heart to the wrong people whether that is a relationship or friendship. Don’t let toxic people into your life that won’t serve you and take your energy without giving anything back. I learnt a heck of a lot about myself last year, I’m still learning and we are always learning, and I think that’s why my body wants to do these poses. It’s always about timing and when you feel ready. Not when other people think you should be ready.
