ᵂᴱᴿᴮᵁᴺᴳ So I have been getting a few questions lately on my prenatal yoga practice 🤰🏼🧘🏼‍♀️as well as on my general health and diet 🍏🥬during pregnancy so far. . I thought it would be fun to answer those questions here collectively and maybe make a little series out of it. . So today I thought I would start by sharing my experience with prenatal yoga. . ☝🏻Of course I am no physician and no expert on prenatal yoga, so the only thing I can do here is give you my two cents on it. Please always consult with your doctor on your personal situation. . 🧘🏼‍♀️🤰🏼HERE WE GO:👇🏻 . I was lucky to be able to do my usual yoga routine until about the eighth month of pregnancy with a few modifications. The main modifications for me were: . 1. I avoided traditional core „crunching“ movements as of the end of my first trimester, meaning anything that includes laying on your back and moving up using your frontal abs. Among other medical reasons it kind of defeated the point of growing the bump to me to and simultaneously grow traditional abs 😅. (However this does not include side body strength to me and strengthening the TVA. I do all of that still) . 2. I also avoid any asana that I couldn’t do relatively easy before pregnancy (for example deep back bends) because pregnancy does not seem to be the time - for me at least- to learn new skills. . 3. I avoid practices that made me feel super out of breath or slightly dizzy. It turns out during pregnancy we have about 1/3 more blood volume in our body and our heart needs to pump that around town. 😅 So whenever I feel like it’s too much I back off and give my body a break to do its work. . 4. I don’t do anything that feels „off“. A lovely friend of mine who is also my yoga teacher told me to always listen to my body and intuition first- no matter what anyone else says on the subject. ❤️ and it’s true: we know in our gut if something is off and we are allowed and should trust that feeling. . . . 🤰🏼Tomorrow I will be 36 weeks pregnant and my yoga practice has changed again in my third trimester. . When I found yoga, I discovered the tribe I'd been searching for all my life. I'd like to take this opportunity to share that I have officially accepted a scholarship for a 200-hour yoga yeacher training and mentorship program starting in January 2020. For five years, I've returned to my mat. I couldn't always define it, but something always brought me back. Once, after a months-long hiatus, I asked a teacher of mine what would happen if I just forgot about yoga. If life got in the way, as it so often does, and I never found the time. If life moved full speed ahead without it. It's never about how long you go without it, she said. If it is within you, you'll always come back to the mat. And it is within you. I am endlessly grateful to the yoga community who has opened their arms to me, and every studio that has opened their doors for me. And to every teacher, mentor, and friend who has inspired me to never stop growing. To be here now, and to breathe. Because that is all we have. Tem muitas finalidades benéficas tanto físicas quanto emocionais: - Temos uma nova visão de mundo, pois vemos tudo sob outro ângulo; - Temos uma nova abordagem da realidade e da vida; - Aumento do bem-estar geral; - Aumento da oxigenação cerebral, levando a maior capacidade de concentração, raciocínio e memória; - Retardo no processo de envelhecimento, pois há um aumento da irrigação sanguínea da face e dos órgãos abdominais; - Normalizamos os níveis de cortisol que é o hormônio do estresse; - Aumento da circulação de endorfina que reduz a ansiedade e a sensação de tristeza; - Aumento da capacidade de adaptação às mudanças ao tornar nossa mente e corpo mais flexíveis E muito mais... 🎉 Yoga challenge 🎉 . . Jour 7 du #24yogaposestochristmas2 ! Aujourd'hui il s'agit de la posture du cobra. Idéale pour aligner sa colonne vertébrale, pour renforcer ses poignets, ses bras, ses épaules et son dos, pour étirer ses muscles abdominaux, et pour ouvrir sa poitrine. On la retrouve dans la salutation au soleil. C'est donc une posture que j'ai l'habitude de faire lors de mes cours de yoga 🙏 . . À part ça, aujourd'hui c'était repos et lecture ce matin avec mon journal moon. Ensuite, c'était Mac do le midi puis match de rugby au soleil pour voir le beau frère jouer l'après midi. Et enfin vers 17h on est allé faire un tour sur la comédie pour faire les magasins mais c'était blindé de monde et pas vraiment agréable 🤣 . . Ce soir, ça sera donc repos devant Netflix ou devant une bonne lecture. Je n'ai pas encore décidé 😅. Et demain matin de 10h à 12h j'ai mon atelier Yoga Hypnose. J'ai vraiment hâte de tester et de vous raconter 😍 . . Ps : je n'ai toujours pas commencer les cadeaux et ça commence à me stresser. Il faut que je me bouge 🤣🤣 . . Belle soirée à vous ✌️ #love

sometimes the universe takes you off your planned path so you can align with your GREATEST SELF and your purpose for the highest healing good of all beings. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Well at least that’s what happened to me. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I studied Clinical Psychology and Music in college and had every intention of continuing my education to become a Music Therapist. I learned how to play piano and I refined my classical guitar skills for the master’s program auditions. I was accepted into Drexel’s Music Therapy program and was enrolled to attend in Fall 2017. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ A few weeks before the graduate program began, I recall my intuition screaming at me for the first time ever in my life - “This decision is not in alignment. Don’t do this! There is something more for you!” So I listened to this inner guidance and decided to disenroll from the graduate program. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Instead, I found consistent yoga practice at a studio in Philly and started a new 9-5 job in Social Work, but the job didn’t fuel my passions. I felt unfulfilled through my day work. I was curious about the subtle transformations I was experiencing on my mat, which led to my first yoga teacher training…And then EVERYTHING changed. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I was addicted to some sense certainty of my former path- Patterns on repeat and life staying the same. On the other side of this story was an eager potential begging to be set free. life changed, situations altered, my entire perception transformed. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ The universe was inviting me in for more. It was time to explore my belief systems, ditch ideas I had for myself, and stand up to the “shoulds” whispered in my ear, by my own mind and from society. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ My dreams keep getting bigger and my calling keeps growing brighter. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Have you had to give something up to live up to your truest potential?
