🔅Fun transition to play with for the more advanced yogis. - . 🔅it’s important to be able to safely do a handstand and chin stand, once you got those two down - add them together . see chin stand video a couple weeks ago to get started! - . 🔅The three main components of this transition : strength, balance & flexibility. It takes a lot of strength to lower to the mat slowly. A good exercise I would recommend for building strength: Nakrasana from ashtanga practice . Google it , if you have no clue what am talking about. - . 🔅Another thing to notice is - Am in a banana shaped handstand, that way am already setting myself to chinstand - I keep looking forward, long neck and slowly lower to the mat. - . 🔅For those of you who may think it’s not possible, I promise you with practice & right technique and maybe a teacher - you can do this. Again! this is for the more advanced yogis: who have been practicing handstands and chin-stands regularly. - . 🔅If this super easy - once you land your chinstand work your way back to handstand. - . 🔅Side note: what you think about the classical music 🎶 ? Different paths, same destination. 💙 The high unsupported cobra was a pose that was elusive to me for some time. I was determined to figure out how to lift my chest up and back unsupported because there were some acro yoga poses I envisioned with the shape and it embodied a look of freedom that I wanted to feel. Lots of cobra lifts ensued, and then day arrived where I was able to lift up and back enough that I no longer needed my arms to sustain the lift. In this post, I’m showing two different ways I enter the unsupported cobra. In the first, I move through a bow pose, rock back, walk my hands down my thighs, extend my legs and let go. In the second, I lift up from a low, then high cobra. Swipe left to see videos of each, (in reverse order). 💙 Happy Saturday!
