The body I live in now is significantly different from the body I inhabited in my 20s. And I have worked haaaaaard on it. It is stronger, a lot more flexible, and way more at ease. I don’t worry what people think of my body. I’m not embarrassed or ashamed of my body. I appreciate its complexity and ability to survive the trials I put it through. I am amazed it was able to grow and feed my babies (for real! Moms all grow their kid’s brains, hearts, and lungs and make milk without ever reading an instruction manual!! We are awesome! 😆). Don’t get me wrong....there are still aspects of my body I don’t love, but have come to accept them or find reasons to be grateful. . . Of course my kids were laughing hysterically when they saw these spinal rolls. They said i looked like a cat coughing up a hairball 😼. Tried to take a social media break, completely failed after 3 days. 🤷🏽‍♀️ . . Food for thought: We all know we aren't as perfect as we seem on this little square. In my case, I don't share how often I am an awkward, imperfect person. (Which is 90% of the time) I rarely share my personal life outside of yoga and handstands. I never share the best and worst moments; all of my hobbies and passions; the craziest adventures and most chill do-nothing days; the yummiest food and well, I don't eat not yummy food, so.... It's an interesting idea to ponder. Один из работающих способов творить себя - это музыка. Правильная музыка способна зажечь, она способна открыть в человеке скрытые ресурсы о которых он даже не подозревал. Каждый раз, когда я чувствую себя механическим роботом, музыка даёт мне силы и ресурсы поменять то, что важно. 🤦🤷Как вы думаете, прослушивая современные песни о похоти и зависимости, сможем ли мы стать счастливыми? Пение мантры один из способов включиться в нужную минуту. Писания говорят, слова на санскрите имеют особое воздействие на человеческое тело, а после и на психику, действия. Поэтому многие мантры звучат на санскрите. Мантра - это мыслеформа, фраза со вложенной идеей или смыслом. 👼👩‍🚀Когда мы концентрируемся на этой идее, наше состояние начинает работать в нашу пользу. Можете называть это магией, самовнушением или НЛП. Как хотите . Если вы увидите когда-нибудь человека поющего одну у ту же незнакомую фразу с блаженной мимикой - вы теперь что-то понимаете :)🕵️ Попробуйте как-нибудь. Baba nam kevalam. ⁣⁣ Early morning movement flow, 3️⃣ short clips.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I enjoy the challenge of unleveraged twists, especially while balancing on one leg. Even when I add elbow to knee connection, I try to keep the work in my core unit and maintain control throughout the twist. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Inspired by the #𝐬𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐲𝐨𝐠𝐚 challenge and hashtag feed, I busted out some #𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐬 😈 ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ The inchworm 🐛 is getting better ... More lats! That split flow is pretty fun too and my students appreciated that challenge when we worked on it last week. BUILD YOUR USTRASANA / CAMEL POSE Last week we worked on Ustrasana / Camel Pose in class through the lense of the shoulders. As we know, most poses are complicated and multiple joints and parts of the body must work together in order to find a balanced shape. There is a lot going on in Camel, obviously spinal extension, but when you break down the pose a little deeper you will also see that there are a lot of other areas of the body which can be worked. This first drill may not seem obvious to the final pose to begin with but it's been really helpful including it in my sequence. In this drill we are focusing on Shoulder Extension (the arms moving back behind you) and we make it more challenging for the arms by squeezing a block. Your triceps will burn here as you work to straighten the arms while holding a block behind you. Warning: This drill has been known to make grown men cry! Begin in either Tadasana/Mountain Pose or a kneeling position. Draw your front ribs in and lengthen your tailbone down. Throughout the drill you must continue to check your torso to make sure everything is still being held in and strong. Take a block and hold it behind you - for best results only hold the block between your palms! Squeeze the block and straighten your arms while moving them away from the lower back. Hold for as long as you dare.
