Frog pose is my weakness, I feel so painful to do 😵😂How about you?- - Teacher: @miss_sunitha ・・・ Mixing active and passive stretches into flexibility-based poses allows for us to safely work into flexibility without compromising stability. . The first 6 poses are active stretches - stay for about 8-10 breaths each. The last 3 poses are passive stretches - stay for about 3 minutes each. . A few things to note: 1️⃣ Activate the outer thigh of the front foot and tuck the hip under. 2️⃣ In this variation, the hips move back while the tailbone lengthens down. Notice the weight on the feet, try to keep them equal between right and left. 3️⃣ The tendency is to hyper extend the knee, sinking the entire weight on the knee joint. To prevent this, keep the knee caps lifted and thighs pressing up. You may not go as low, but it will prevent collapsing into the joints. Keep both the inner and outer feet pressing down equally to support the ankles. 4️⃣ If it’s hard to balance in this pose, the palms can be on blocks. If possible, try using the tricep to press against the thigh. Tailbone lengthens down and belly is in to keep the chest lifted. 5️⃣ Knees are wide. Use the outer hip of the bent knee (like in Warrior II) to ground hips down equally. 6️⃣ Keep this active by using the outer hip of both legs to open the knees to the sides. Belly is in and tailbone lengthening to the ground. 7️⃣ Make sure the knee is in line with the hips (not forward or back!), and the ankles are in line with the knees. Then start leaning forward while maintaining the hips directly in line with the knees. As we move to passive stretches, feel free to use blocks under the forearms or forehead to get comfortable, and breath through the discomfort. 8️⃣ Wiggle the hips as close to the wall as possible but keep the lower back on the mat. If the lower back is slightly lifted, place a towel underneath. 9️⃣ Wiggle the hips as close to the wall as possible. Notice if the knees feel hyper extended, work on pressing the thighs down and tilting the hips forward while lengthening the tailbone down. . Try not to force anything, work with the breath in all the poses. Above all, be patient 😉 .

Sometimes I wonder if I really know how I look like. The only way I can see myself is through a mirror, photographs, or videos. It’s only an appearance captured trough the lens of past experiences. You don’t see yourself in those beautiful moments when they are happening. You don’t see your sleepy face in the morning, your face when you are laughing out loud while spending your time with your best friend and having a stomachache from laughing too much. Or just smiling because you feel happy and fulfilled. You don’t see yourself when being in the arms of a human who knows you better than you know yourself and feeling their warmth. You don’t see yourself in all those moments that are part of this very existence itself and that makes who you are. Swimming in the ocean, sipping on our coffee, smiling at the the stars, listening to your favorite song, cuddling with your cat, walking barefoot in the nature, or being speechless in front of a wonderful sunrise. Maybe if you could somehow see this you, you would fall in love with how beautiful you truly are. xo Roxy

The discipline of yoga is purification practice, the goal is purification not for the sake of perfection but for the sake of freedom . We tend to grasp for a deeper opening, greedy for the glory of perfect pose and we refused to surrender on our body’s wisdom . If the discipline of yoga is to bring greater freedom, we must practice backbend or any other yoga poses in a way that accepts and accommodates our resistance even values and honors it while still letting ourselves receive the intended benefits . If we practice backbend (or any yoga poses) with intention upon eliminating aspects of ourselves, that we see somehow “not measuring up” we succeed only in beating ourselves up, there is no freedom on that path and incidentally no purification, it’s a path that leads only deeper into mental disturbance . The point of this practice is not to become someone else, but to become fully of ourselves . To achieve not the glorious backbend pictures, but the one person that is at once stable emotionally and comfortable for our own body, and glows with an inner experience joy, exhilaration and freedom .
