We dont have ‘cheat meals’, we dont eat ‘cheat food’. We chose our food carefully and we have been able to sustain a ketogenic lifestyle for over 2 years. We do it for health and to keep a check on our weight. If we choose a meal or a food that is not keto compatible, we choose it. It is not cheating. We have a good appreciation and understanding of our ketogenic lifestyle and the food we eat. I try to impress on those who use ‘cheat’ as a way to describe a meal or food, to drop it from their descriptive vocabulary. As such this word sets up too much negativity and implied failure. Just educate yourself on keto. There are many resources simple and complex. Please, please stop asking us what our cheat meal is or suggesting we try this or that as a cheat food. There was a time not too long ago I would have pushed all the veggies to the side and if I would’ve known there was cauliflower rice mixed with that brown it would have been all over. 🙄 😂 . Veggies are something I really had to force myself to acquire a taste to because I really hated most of them up until about 15 years ago. 🤷‍♀️ . BUT with a lot of experimenting, trying different seasonings, and different ways to cook them, I can now say there are ones I love just as much as I love pizza 🍕and ice cream.🍨 . I even find creative ways to sneak them in like with tonight’s dinner - half brown rice, half cauliflower rice and it tasted exactly like just brown. 🍚😉 . New favorite summer dinner - steak, shrimp, peppers, and onion 🌶 🍤🥩 seasoned with @traderjoes Cajun lime for the shrimp and South African smoke for the steak. 😋 Healthu doesn’t have to be gross, and veggies don’t have to be a punishment...it just takes some experimentation and wanting to form #healthyhabits 💪🏻
