I usually save the oats for winter but have been seeing “zoats” everywhere so decided to check it out for myself! I made mine chocolate flavored because..well no explanation needed on that one. 💁🏻‍♀️ such a delicious breakfast that takes hardly any time! ⁣ ⁣ Chocolate zucchini oats:⁣ 1 C almond milk⁣ 1/2 C rolled oats⁣ 1/2 a large zucchini, grated and drained of excess water ⁣ Dash of vanilla⁣ Few sprinkles cinnamon⁣ 2 tbsp cacao powder⁣ 2 tbsp maple syrup⁣ 1-2 scoops collagen powder ⁣ ⁣ Bring a pot with the almond milk to boil. Once boiling add everything but the collagen and reduce to simmer for 5-10 mins until oats are consistency you’d like. It has been a HOT MINUTE since we had any oat action up in here 🙌🏻 When I first started this account I’m fairly certain 90% of my content were my morning oat bowls and 10% were awkward gym selfies 😅 This morning I was a touch of the freezing and had time to prepare something actually decent so it was back to the good old trusty protein courgette oats! While adding protein powder & courgette (zucchini for my Aussies) may seem crazy, the protein powder helps thicken the oats (texture goals), start your day off with a healthy dose of protein, and add some sweetness! I tend to veer towards a vegan protein for my oats as I find whey makes the oats go runny. Adding in grated courgette before cooking (and chia seeds) adds extra volume = full tummy, as well as added fibre and nutrients. Zucchini protein oats by @bitesandtights ♥️ ▫️50g rolled oats ▫️20g protein powder ▫️100g grated zucchini ▫️50g frozen raspberries ▫️10g peanut butter ▫️cinnamon Add oats, zucchini, cinnamon to a bowl and cover with cold water. Microwave (if you’re lazy like me) for 1min 30sec. Add protein powder and mix well. Heat again for 30sec intervals or until desired consistency. Top with defrosted berries and PB. if you haven’t noticed yet, I really love oats 😍 today I worked out for a first time in a while and it was definitely harder than it was before I had to stop working out because of exams 😅 but I loved it anyway and remembered why I love it so much 🥰 so grateful that I have a body that’s strong enough to work out and not feel drained afterwards! while moving your body is beneficial for numerous reasons, it can be dangerous if you overdo it or if you are suffering/recovering from eating disorder. it can be hard mentally to not move your body while eating in a big surplus but you have to do it in order to recover - your mind has to recover as well as your body! so move your body mindfully, don’t punish yourself with it or drive it too far because it will do way more harm than good ❤️ breakfast dEATS: vanilla maca #zoats topped with nectarine and raspberries, swipe for the drizzle of almond butter 🌱🥰
